Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators said that the crash occurred about 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of of the Oak Trails Apartment complex in the 2000 block of South Mason Road.

The motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, lost control of the 2007 Suzuki, hit the curb and was thrown from the bike.

The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, slammed into a brick wall and died at the scene.

Deputies are investigating the wreck to determine if alcohol was involved.

Years back a good friend of mine, an experienced rider, launched his '86 Interceptor into the side of a dumpster when a burn out got away from him. He went to the hospital with a shattered pelvis and the bike was 10" shorter from the impact.

rip to the op, fortunately no one else was hurt.
