Bryan/College Station Moto Advice

Hey guys. I just took the plunge today and bought my first bike - an '03 SV650S. I need to take it to be inspected (as soon as I learn to ride it haha) and am thinking about getting an alarm for it since I'm living at an apartment. Are there any shops in the area you would recommend or stay away from? Or any advice in general for riding in the area?

I bought it from a private seller. the only shop i knew about was action sports. i liked this '07 ninja 650 of theirs but i couldn't really deal with them. it's good to know there are alternatives - i wasn't looking forward to working with action sports again haha

I've totally ditched them after the price quote for a set of BT 016's. I could have supported a small village of pigmys for the money they wanted. Glad I never bought them.

Same here . Action Cycles quoted me 35$ more for a 2ct, I no longer do business with them.

To the O.P
Park you bike in your apartment or just go get full coverage from Tuan(In the state farm subsection here). Lo-Jack deals with stolen motorcycles, not with preventing motorcycles from being stolen

You have some good choices in Bryan College Station.

ProCycles is run by a really good guy. Ray Holder.

Address already posted.

As is Motorcycles Plus. Phillip Fisher.

Across from the Chicken Oil Company.

3710 Old College Rd., Bryan, TX‎ - (979) 696-9155‎

There is also Danny's Motorcycle Service. Danny Mosely

Danny's Motorcycle Services
3607 Colson Rd
Bryan, TX 77808

(979) 778-4380

All three race or raced with various groups, and all three know their stuff.

I don't know that any of them offer LoJack though. Be careful of theft there at apartments.

Not everyone in Bryan/College Station follows the Aggie Code of Honor.

What is the Aggie Code of Honor?

“An Aggie does not lie, cheat or steal, or tolerate those who do.”

The Aggie Code of Honor affirms values that apply to students, faculty and staff alike. This simple statement exemplifies two of our core values—excellence and integrity—and underscores our commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with laws and official policies. These core values forge a strong base to embrace our other core values of leadership, loyalty, respect and selfless service.

Not to hijack, but I used to buy all sorts of stuff at Action Sports and even a bike or two when I lived there. They always treated me right.

I had one incident where they caused a very minor scrape on my YZF600R while in for service. They acknowledged it before I saw it, and bought me new OEM replacement plastic to make it right. Granted, that was in 1999, but Jeff still owns the place as far as I know.

Bummer.

5 years!? Masters?

I took 5 also. Between Bonfire (McInnis Yellowpot 1989) and two jobs, I crammed 4 years into 5 myself.

My favorite variation I heard quoted once is that we do however bend the truth, share answers, and borrow indefinelty.

BTW, Thanks dude for sending me to Pro-Cycles. I think I'm going to be doing a lot of business with them in the future. I'm taking the rear wheel in tomorrow to have a tire mounted.
Haven't gotten a tire quote from them yet but looks like I'll be getting a set from Ray because of how he treats the customer. Stand up guy and I also talked to him about track suits the last time I was there.

lol No problem man! I'm always happy to send him new customers. Gets me a better discount. Haha, but good luck getting anything done tomorrow since he'll be closed!

He can order pretty much anything at a really competitive price. He's got a set of new brake pads waiting for me. I'll be in there Tuesday after work to pick them up.
