apples to oranges

dunno how this always comes up.
stunting is a fun __cheaper__ hobby while trackdays are a fun __expensive__ hobby.

im sure if stunters __wanted__ to invest the money into they track they would have a blast. its just not for some people

1. agree
2. agree
3.
4. ya tracktime is limited to trackdays unless you want to drive to oak hill for $75
5. agree
6. its a trackday dog, if u want slow people out of your way, A. oak hill, B. enter the races
7. never understood this one, granted im slow as shat i personally know 2-3 people who would be willing to teach u some of the ropes that are faster than you if you just ask. why not pm some people and ask them to hit up oak hill with u and show u some things. let me know if u want and ill ask them for u
8. clayton i know u have a bad taste in your mouth from the your track experience this year but i dont think its as bad as u think ... next year give it another shot and try some races i think it will bring the competitive nature in you back out

you have tons of skills, let em shine. stop getting involved in the trackday drama and get into the real racing i can see you having alot more fun than u did with just doing TD

hope u see u out there dog

Mr. Unassailable,

Sucks you had a experience with the trackday guys/ orgs. Personally, I've had lots and lots of help at the track. Sure, sometimes theres alot of the wrong information being thrown around in the paddock but overall I've witnessed alot of lending hands and guys trying to help each other out.
Sure, I'm not as fast as you are at all but maybe we hung around different trackday guys. Saying all trackday guys are is pretty harsh bro.

Good luck to you racing next season, from what I've seen around here, you seem to be very talented, hope you put it to use.

Not all track/race guys are pricks. But the to cool guy ratio looks much worse in that scene than in the stunt scene.

I have a group of guys i ride with, they are all track guys, and all very cool non prickish people.

Maybe i worded it poorly, but fact is the guys at the lot are 99% cool, the guys at the track are 50% cool. in my opinion. But who am i to make that call? Im just a stunter that has done about 10 track days.

And trust me, help is harder to find when you get fast. It sucks when only a couple of instructors can keep up with you. And they are normally working on thier own skills.

I dont think that is a problem other stunters will have though.

Personally, i think i will only be riding with Buck for the remainder of the year.

I hear ya Clayton, I can see where it gets hard finding help when you get to a certain level when the guys teaching can't keep up. But it seems that there are those out there offering to help like Romeo.

I will admit I haven't really given the lot a chance, its not the stunters, its the scene in general, let me explain.

I've been to A.S.I only a handful of times. Each time I go, the groups that come to spectate are the kinds of riders that insist on revving the out of their bikes, bouncing of the rev limiter on their strecthed & lowered bikes with flashing neon lights with mo hawks and fat chicken strips, for some reason thats what I associate the lot with. Nothing wrong with those peeps but its not the group that I care to associate with. Don't mean to sound negative but just speaking honestly. I even went to ASI once with a few guys fitting that exact profile. The guys were funny as and pretty cool but not the kind of guys I prefer to ride with if that makes any sense. You guys are talented and have awesome bike control, thats for sure but for some reason I associate it with the audience. I guess the same thing could be said about the racetrack though.

Whenever I get my bike back ready for the street, I plan on going back to the lot and seeing how cool these guys are. The only stunter I've met is Joe, cool dude for sure.

Borrow leathers, borrow boots, we all have gloves and helmets I hope. Bring any old bike to the track, it'll do. Work corners one day, ride the next. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Clayton did it, Jon did it, I did it. Doesn't matter if your a stunter or a harley rider, the track is open to all makes, models, walks of life, riding habits, etc...

Gotta agree with Clayton about cool / factor. But 50%cool is half full cool, right?
