powersurge, you don't need warmers for street tires. i guess if you wanted a set of tires for the track thats understandable, i've seen the takeoffs you guys put on stuntbikes race takeoffs can be had for cheap as well.
ok but i dont want to give a weekend up of corner working, im not being snotty, i just would rather stunt ride or go with falky and do the golf course, and yes i would want a set of new good tires, as i would be trusting the tires with my bike an body and possible life....and yes most stunt riders will use a take off, but we don't like track take offs due to the clumps of rubber, and yes i know i could get cheap leathers from someone ...it's not that it's not fun, it's just not in my budget of life...maybe if a few years down the road, but i've been dying to get my motard on the track and it's some thing im wanting to do, but i'd also like a real motard track, (half tarmac and half dirt with jumps)

I had an awesome time out at the track and I wish I had enough money to do both but stunting is my thing and it drains my bank account more than I would like it to...

Ya, but for one track day i can go down the street to my local mx track or free woods track and spend between $25 - $0 plus gas to ride and get there, possibly what ever i might break or wear out.

There is nothing wrong with the track, its outa control a sick looking time, just cost of fun and jumping in the air has got me hooked. I personal am sure if i actually made it to the race track it would be great but just ease and lack of time gets me in my local lot which is 2.3miles from my shop or mx track which is 15 mins from my house. as opposed to jennings jp which is almost 3 hours away, just cant do it :( But i am going to a track day to shoot photography the end of this month. . . .

Someone posted under my name. Blah!! I prefer track over stunt just because going fast is in my blood. After racing mx, sprint cars, and drag cars well track days on a bike is just a given to me. I get frustrated with wheelies and then go take off and do my own thing lol

alright, i'll bite. here are some examples of the difference.

1. $ (already discussed)
2. bike setup is totally different. and it is a pain in the to switch it up from track to stunt. trust me, i did it for a year.
3. most stunters know the track guys are abunch of pricks. they get on here and say dumb about stunters and they know they are safe. (IE, at the lot if you pop off you can very well end up on your back. at the track, you can hide behind the trackday org)
4. at the lot you can ride when you want, no time control, and when you arent riding, the atmosphere is alot like the paddocks.
5. no tech. our stunt bikes are rigged up to work for what we do. most are duck taped, zip tied, JB welded, or just pieced together.
6. at the track you have to put up with other riders, with no say as to what class they ride in. at the lot. it is a mutually known respect that when the Joe Christy's, Jordo's, Petro's are out there. you let them have the lot. at the track, i can be the fastest guy on the pavement, and i could and cry all day because i can never get a clean lap because of slow people in the advanced group, and nothing changes. everyone wants to think they are faster than they are. at the lot that dont fly. either you are good and respected for it, or you are tossed in the pile with the noobs.
7. the better you get at stunting the more respect you get from stunters. at the track, the faster you get, the more people want to hold you back (not everyone, but anyone that sees you as competition, they will no be willing to help, that doesnt happen in stunting, not around houston atleast.)
8. if any one of the stunters dont know what its like to be that stunt rider on the track with abunch of racers/trackday guys, i'd be more than glad to truthfully say it sucks.

i've tried to get some of the stunters to go to the track. because it is fun. but in comparison to the lot....... cant say i'd rather be on the track than at the lot. not today atleast.

and on #6, for the stunters, my "you get tossed into the pile with the noobs" i mean that you automatically know to give the better guys space. I'm in that pile with you, so dont take it personal.

Well said Clayton.
$ holds me back from getting a 50 and starting.
I know a 50 will turn into something bigger and more $.
