I would think that Lorenzo wants to win a championship.
I doubt he can do it on the Ducati. It appears that only Casey can get good results on it. I think Lorenzo is just pumping for more money. I bet he signs with Yamaha. As far as Stoner goes, what is wrong with him? Thats a pretty crazy deal !!! I think the bikes so hard to ride it tires him too much. :-)
What ever is wrong with him must be pretty bad to miss races as well as the bonuses that come with podiums or wins.

Spies wants to win the WSBK title and he just might pull it off this year. If he does, Monster wants a Team Texas/USA and Colin and Ben might be team mates. Toesland may take Spies Yamaha ride in WSBK.

Don't count out Kevin Swantz and his desire to run a team. He has the pull and the connections and has been mentioning it OFTEN in his press conferences and other interviews.

I said it before, I'll say it again: Lorenzo is angling for mo' money. He'll be back at Yami.

For Spies and CEII guided by Schwantz to ride Tech III Monster would be EFFIN' AWESOME!

I really don't think we're getting the full story as I've said before, he's either more ill than he/Ducati want the public to know or there is a very unhappy camp which brings me back to the Lorenzo pay offer!!!
Ducati are courting disaster, to lose Stoner is to lose the only man that can really ride that bike!!

Think Schwantz think Suzuki and they can't afford a saterlite team

don't you just love the silly season

I think we all know they want to retain him as soon as he jumps to GP, so it's possible they could be willing to let go of JLo and give Hayden a ride for a season or two for publicity (two of the most popular riders in all of the sport). Then when Spies is done with his satelite ride time, boot Hayden and scoop up Spies onto the factory team.

Thoughts?
I think this is the closest to reality.

no way, EVERYTHING revolves around lorenzo right now,
even honda who have made public their desire to retain dovi and pedrosa have still not given them a contract to sign.

why lorenzo may be stalling,

consider FIAT Yamaha’s offer, thought to be around $3.9 million per season, or $7.8 million for two years and with the knowledge that he will continue to have the same support as Rossi on the Yamaha M1, generally considered to be the best MotoGP weapon, or does he take Ducati Marlboro's bigger offer (according to Italian sources $14 million for two season and $18 million according to the often better-informed Spanish press) and accept the task of riding the Ducati Desmosedici 800 that, so far anyway, has been a one-man bike?

I don't think Lorenzo is going anywhere, it would be a big shakeup if he went to Ducati. I have a good friend who is background guy for a GP team that I won't name, and everyone in the paddock knows "Lorenz-ho" just wants more cash because he's being pissy that he's #2 at Yamaha. Stoner is locked up for 2010 anyways, so no one will be replacing him, and Ducati is keen to keep Nicky. If they do opt for Lorenzo, it will mostly likely be a Lorenzo/Hayden swap. Yamaha has been trying to get their tuning forks on Nicky for a couple of seasons, Nicky and Vale get on great and work well together. The REAL hot seats right now are the ones at Tech 3, my buddy says Colin is pretty much signed, sealed, and delivered, just the details. Toseland is out the door pretty much for sure, it's just who'll take his seat. Spies wants to win the WSBK title, and if he wins, defend it, he's stated that's his priority. This weekend will tell the tale for sure. There is also a hot rumor around the paddock that Ducati might put Lorenzo on a one-man "factory" outfit if they want to keep Hayden...I'll give you guys a good report from Indy, I am off at 11 this morning! I am also bringing my Nikon D60 for gratuitous GP bike images!
