inspection service for buying used bike?

Glad I found a website that is Houston based with lots of great info here.

I plan to buy a used bike from an individual in a few weeks. Other than some family and friends who are familiar with bikes, I was looking to get a professional and extensive inspection of the bike before I purchased to check for any accidents or damage.

Just wondering if there were any shops in Houston that provided this service to people. Its worth the cost to me to insure a clean and dependable bike.

This obviously has to be a mutual agreement between the buyer and seller to have it inspected in such a way. Would there be any reason for a seller to object to the inspection if it is a buyers condition for completing the deal? Or is this just too extreme?

BTW: This is my first bike. Im planning on taking the riding course. I just started shopping this week and planned to take months before finding the right bike and price, however the ideal price/bike came along prematurely before I could take the course.

So I plan to purchase the bike immediately following the inspection, then storing it at a family member's house and relinquishing the keys to them. My experienced family members will get to ride it (to keep it running) until I have completed the course and spent at least 6 months on a Rebel 250.

I bought my bike from a long time friend, I knew its history so there were no concerns about it being in an accident . I knew it had been.
But if you ask the seller to have it checked out by a shop, see if the cost of the inspection can be put into the cost of the bike. Maybe go 50/50 on the cost of the shop's fee. I dunno. Any shops out there that doe this? There is a way to get vehicle accident history too, just dont remember the link.
