Everyone, Tell the spouses to be careful

froma lady on the Texas harley riders forum:

Just wanted to warn you to be careful around Baybrook
Mall and really around town in general. Tonight
Eddie, Kate and I went to Toy's R Us on Bay Area Blvd.
right at twilight at 7 pm and Eddie was unloading Mady
from his side of the van and Kate and I were walking
around and a car pulled up and a hispanic male tried
to grab my purse!! He was sitting in the passenger
side of the car and pulled up so close and grabbed
onto my purse and at first I thought my purse had
hooked onto their side mirror. Then I noticed that
his hand was holding onto my purse and the car was
moving so it threw me to the ground onto my side and
my arm, leg and thumb got scraped up and it drug me
about 2 feet. Thank he let go of my purse because
it was hooked onto my arm and they would have drug me
on the asphalt more!!! Eddie and another man took off
running to follow the car but they couldn't get the
license plate number.
The police came and said the same car was just at the
Baybrook Sears right before this happened to me and a
lady was robbed of her purse in the same manner. They
didn't get away with my purse but the skin on my thumb
is torn away. I was taken by ambulance to ClearLake
Hospital to have the baby checked out and thank
everything is OK. I am so lucky.
Also, last week the Citibank next to Beauty Brands was
robbed by gunpoint and a few weeks ago the Radio Shack
next to the Blackeyed Pea was robbed at 2 pm in the
daylight. The Shell station on the corner of Hwy 3
and Bay Area Blvdwas also robbed at gunpoint. Just
wanted to let everyone know to be careful and be alert
because alot has happened crimewise in our area
recently.

Lisa

You must be one of the protestors skipping school so you can fight for these mexicans to stay in town and rob innocent women. Tell your dad to go home.

Yeah, thats just hilarious isn't it. If you really think that, you are one low life piece of . It is sad that most kids these days have that same attitude. I mean I am only 20, but I learned long ago that that attitude will get you no where in life. Someone needs to stick a foot up your and knock some sense into you.

I guess the point of it is that it is happening in our neighborhood now, not just the fifth ward and your neighborhood.
I think she is pointing out to all the high dollar uppitys that just because you live in Clear lake and shop at a popular mall, don't think the crime stays away in the crosby regions

I think she was just getting at the fact that it has been happening quite often in that area. I dunno.. but you're right it happens to often and women or just about everyone for that matter need to always keep an eye out on your surroundings.

basically, this area was predominately a crime free area, now its a different story. Folks think all the bad elements that came our way from Louisiana stayed in Houston, I'm here to tell you it came our way as well, all the decent apartments all of a sudden saw governement money thrown at them and blammo, they got infested like roaches and the rest of the story is in the news daily.

I see, all of Houston is the same to me. I didn't realize Baybrook was a relatively incident free area. They'll deal with it.
