Lawrence Auto Title. I have done 2 bonded titles through them. Do you have a bill of sale from the guy?

http://www.lawrenceautotitle.com/continue.htm

It'll probably end up costing you about $300-400 to do it.

Well I just got off the phone with the company that has the lien on the title.. She say the guy paid off the title and owes them no more money!!! But i dont understand why there is still a lien on the title according to the Tx dept of Pulic safety.......

The agent i spoke with say's she will get with her manager as soon as she gets out her meeting and contact me back to try and help me. I told her if he paid then they need to remove the lien so I can get a bonded title.... So im awiting a call

If their lien is released then he has no reason to keep the title from you.

I agree bluewave!! And i dont think he's keeping it on purpose (IDK) but he has a problem with answering his phone and returning missed calls....

So now my new question is if the lien is not on the title could I file for a lost title or I still have to get it bonded???

The registered owner can get a lost title. You cant get one. A lien of your own is possible. It will cost you around 250 to put a lien and you have to sign documents detailing the reasons and work you have done. You can fudge the paper, but remember its a legal document. I had D&D do all of the paperwork for me. They even picked up my reg. tags from the court house for me.

Not being a but you could have about 200 MH guys come to his house while you nicely ask for the title in person!

There is safety in Numbers ya know.

I would talkt o a lawer today though to make sure you dont get fubard. without the title they are right he might get the Ins check. That would suck big time.

actually you need to cut one of the 25 percents into something like two 12.5's. keep one as the original reason. this NEW 12.5 percent would KNOW THE GUY... take his side, and say "you did not know all the facts mang! he's a GOOD guy, but happens to good people sometimes." stickin up for him.

If you have a bill of sale on the bike and that guy has taken out another loan against the title, call the cops and press charges. He would now be a felon.

He said the loan is paid. I was thinking he could take the b.o.s to the loan comp. and threaten to sue. They would drop the lien. Its not the issue anymore though.

Yeah, I read that but the guy could have gotten another loan after. This thread slightly reminds me of my post about a title problem. http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...14#post1761014

Couldn't Landon go to the lienholders place of business and get a statement saying that the lien is paid in full? Then take that with him to get a bonded title? OR take the "lien paid in full statement" get the owner of the bike and go downtown to get a lost title printed on the spot. Then the seller can sign and hand over the title immediately to Landon. This is assuming that the title truly is in the name of the seller.

i'm going through the process right now. It's not so bad. My surety bond cost $100. I am sure there were cheaper places, but I prefer to do most of my business with USAA.
