good way to get killed here. People try to run you off the road when your riding normally.

lol...

i just get stuck at lights going up willcrest every day and theres this giant new road in between cars calling my name every day, nobodys moving and it totally sucks, could probably knock 15 minutes off my drive just rolling up through there to avoid waiting 2 more times for the same light every 3 blocks.

stupid houston.....

if traffic is dead stopped, or under 10 miles an hour but there is a LOT of traffic...I split. (morning stuff, or heavy accident)

yeah its illegal, but your not whooli'n down road, or doiung excessive speeds. your safely commuting, and helping traffic flow. (by removing one bike from gridlock :P)

thats a real good way to people off around here, Ive seen people swerve at riders doing this, I guess they get mad because someone is getting ahead of them.

The proposed bill stipulated that lane sharing be made legal only when the motorcyclist is traveling 5 mph faster than traffic, the flow of cars is no faster than 20 mph, and both operator and passenger must be wearing helmets. Additionally, only those who had completed basic MSF class would be allowed to do so.

Even if it does become legal I will not do it. Right or wrong perceptions of us will only decline and cagers will become even more aggressive. Unless of course the state launched a major media marketing campaign so everyone knows it is legal and to leave us the alone. My 2 copper pieces.

They will get accustomed to it after a while. It's done in many other countries around the world with much worse drivers than Houston.
IMO it should only be done in extremely stop & go traffic conditions....

I do it in grid locked freeway traffic...even did it right past a State Trooper...he didn't even flinch, I guess they see the good in it too. Sure people honk and yell, but I've never been harassed much more than that for doing it.

But one thing I will NOT do is cut people waiting in line at a light...that'd be like draggin ma dik through their corn flakes
