Keep us updated on this! Good luck, it looks like fun.

The last pic in the original post looks photoshopped. What did you do to the tail?

Actually raised the rear up, dropped the bars and made a one piece rear section(cloned over the seat.)

In honesty, Im glad Im working on this bike vs a newer auction bike. Taking me back to some older days of riding cuz I have to focus on each part of this bike. I keep having flashbacks lol.

It will resemble a 900rr when done but Im sure it will be Cali-fornified by the time Im done.

DUde I love the 900RR's, I remember when they were the fastest on the street.

They have always been wheelie machines.

I noticed that rear sprocket, is that stock gearing?

When this bike first came out ('92), it was way ahead of it's time. Tadao Baba designed a groundbreaking bike with close to 1k power in a bike close to the weight of a 600. This bike was a legend in its time, and set many new standards for the modern sportbikes we see today. But yeah, towards the end of the (FireBlade) Era, modern sportbike technology made many advances, but this bike set the precedent.

Awesome project, Matt!! I love the FireBlade!!

I'm glad you're liking it, I was set to get a new bike, but bought a new car instead today, we'll see, maybe I'll get me another used bike again.

I just got home, but I'll look tomorrow for any parts for the bike that stayed home, lol.

Holy Smokes! Nice project Cali. Will be looking forward to seeing this thing in person. Maybe on a Gnome ride soon.

I see the 650 Army will now have another rivalry.

I honestly dont know. Leo gave me three additional wheels along w the wheels that were on it; so I have a 17inch set that needs to be blasted, an aluminium 17 set that would be good to go and then the original 16/17 set up.

I need to talk to Patrick. I already looked at tires and only the bt016 offers a 130/70r16 size. The 002/003 doesn't offer a 16". Do you think I'd have issues w the 16inch wheel?

Let you know Randy. I ended up w an extra frame, three subframes, extra forks, front and rear full brake systems and a box full of goodies I pulled out more then once today instead of working

I just finally found what may be an ETM I needed to check my signals for the starter for tomorrow. Also did some watchful shopping on freebay. I need to visit a junkyard for some trim covers/minor things and then Motorcycles Unlimited for some turn signals/mirrors(FTLegalW.)

Im sure Patrick will tell you to go with the 17 for tire reasons, but the 16in makes things a bit more fun in the turns...

Thats what I was afraid of. The 16/17 are already black.

The 17" set is severely oxidized and may have been chromed(I cant tell) so powercoating may be needed. Maybe I can just sand them down for now.
