We've all had those times near 2am and last call when you need to weigh the consequences and end up taking one for the team.

Im actually very stoked. It will need some work and no telling when I'll get around to it but I'll do a bit here and there. Will be fun

That is a 97' the tail is off a 98' or 99'. I would realy like to see this bike built up.
You should buy some race farrings to throw on it and use the other sub frame to mount a custom tail you want to use and you could switch between the two. The stock front end was bent in a run in with a fence so I wanted to run a 929 front end on it. Maybe put a rc51,GSXR, RR race tail on it?

My plans are to rewire the ignition and get power to everything first, then work on lights, signals etc. Once that is covered and mapped out I'll pull the tank off, do the engine checks and at least get it running. I need to check the tank and fill it w some new gas and stabil.

As for the cosmetics, I had already checked for themed plastics But until then I'll settle w a simple paint job. I may need to trade out the sprocket though...

For the tail, I thought about fiberglassing the whole assembly as a mold and running parkinglights using the plastic rods/LEDs etc. There may be no end to the madness.

I have an extra shock, yes. Let me make sure mine works first since it does has the suspension swap on it, then they can have it.

Day 1... lovin' it. Parts list has begun w throttle cables(return is almost done with) and missing the top cover of the throttle eccentric on the grip. May visit the Honda used bike dept off West Rd.

I also may have a clutch problem. The spring arm on the side of the case cover has very little resistance when pushing or letting go. So little that the clutch lever wont return after being pulled Im hoping its just the spring on top but Im chasing a starting gremlin and need an ETM.

Wired up the cut ignition for temp fix to check electricals today.

It was starting while pushing the start/stop button in half way, not full. After letting it sit and working on the levers/positioning etc it wouldnt so much as crank. Im speculating the start/stop switch it faulty so Im going to search for a free ETM online so I dont have to guess and can locate the problem within a couple minutes

Im going to try to keep the 636 clip ons on the bike but I need to find a fairing stay then check body fitting. I also need to figure out how to make the rack lock work; whether I grind the clip ons or the frame so the pin can fit at full turn.

All day I was so eager to tear into it and its going to be hard to be patient

they say the same about the 600 katana w a steel frame and carbed engine... but with stock suspension and BT021s I was passing people at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on your trackday Now true, the front tire was skipping out at T10 but it was fun.

Most dont ride their bike close to its limits, and I fit that category so the 900rr will be more then enough for me
