Highlands Flattrack

Just a little heads up.

The folks at Highlands MX Park have built a flattrack on the premises.

They have posted a date for open practice on Aug. 23rd.

There first race is scheduled for Nov. 1st.

For more info if you have a question or two here's a number (713) 542-3857. TJ.

Knobs for the little bikes. You will want to get some enduro / flattrack tires or some rains if you have 17's on your ride. Do try the ph. number posted. Max can help you with any questions. They have done a great bit of work there on this track. TJ.

Hill Top Raceway on the north side of Waller did at one time have flattrack races. It has been some time since bikes have run there. Also in the Huffman area just to the east of FM 2100 was Huffman Raceway Park. I believe the track sold or may have closed. Karts mainly and a Bike race from time to time, but as I mentioned I think the track is in limbo.

So yes the Highlands venue is a welcome site. Don't know where Highlands MX Park is at?

It sits along FM 2100 between Highlands and Crosby / Barrett Station. Same side of the road as Battle Ground Speedway but just north of that track.

Go check it out. TJ.

Is there going to be a race series or is this just "testing the waters"?

They have stands and a score keepers building set up already, so pretty sure they plan on racing.

Remember to have a series there must be racers and fans. We rode the last practice day and I think it's going to be a jam up track. It was HOT and the surface was not breaking up.

Tim, if u have 17" wheels... MAXXIS makes sum dirtrack tires for 17" wheels now, but u will need 2.75" rims front AND back:

http://www.maxxis.com/MotorcycleATV/Racing/DTR-1.aspx

if u have standard motard wheels with a 3.5" front & 5" rear... u can just run roadrace rain slicks (block pattern)

Be sure you have some in the tank LOL.

I was talking to Max as I was posting little more info...

Flattrack tires on the rear for the big Quads. Mini quaids can run ATV tire on all 4.
