sucks man. sorry your ignition got screwed, but at least you still have the bike. if youre gonna get something you should get the regular iron over a gun. more versatile and will be much easier to solder those smaller wires together. i would help ya but im not in town currently.

sorry to say but im just never surprised at these threads anymore. houston is a hole. not to offend anyone but its the truth. back home in colorado i could leave my car on main street unlocked with the keys in the ignition and never give it a second thought. too many fukkheads in the city down here.

Left for work this morning and bike is still there sans upper triple tree/ignition

Yeah I wish I could park it on my patio but I live on the 2nd story. I may start parking her in a relative's garage, but that means I have to travel just to be able to ride...oh well when I get my own garage that will all change.

BTW I didn't know that if you have a theft your insurance skyrockets....but I shouldn't be surprised since ins co try to find any way to justify higher rates

I love this argument. How dare you live at an apartment and own a motorcycle.

Some people ride everyday, some people use their bikes as primary transportation. It is not unreasonable, but more so plain ridiculous to suggest they park their bike at someone else's home in their garage on a daily basis.

Exactly my thinking Ryan....if I park it in a relative's garage I then have to drive to ride to work

I hear ya, people told me this over and over again. Didn't seem to quite get that I rode my bike every single day of the week. To go park it in someone's garage (and my nearest friend lives less than 1 mile away) it would not only add more time to my morning and afternoon drive home but be quite a burden on the friend sharing their garage.

Just ignore the comments, do what you gotta do, just make sure you have insurance. If it gets stolen, it gets stolen, so is life. But I say put an alarm on it with a two way pager and invest in some artillery.

I was thinking about camping out in my SUV last night to see if they came back w/a truck to finish the job....but I'm not a lawyer and don't want to get some sort of entrapment case

I may start getting creative w/blocking the bike in or trying to park it on the sidewalk or something

+1 and getting a garage is the best way too go... treat it as if your insurance already sky rocketed, because if the bike gets stolen, your next bikes insurance will probably be $100+ more per month more.

I'm sure there is several rings of people, in the Houston area, stealing bikes. It's not uncommon, here.... but I can guarantee, you will see a load of bikes recovered at bike fest.... happens every year.

Wire the frame up to a inverter for an electric fence.

Isn't that illegal? I don't want the cops to arrest me and the guy who tried to steal my bike
