Easy fix- do it yourself. Go to Wally-World and get some fiberglass fabric, a can of resin, and save the money for your next track day.

All you need to do is rough the back side up with a 60 grit paper, apply a thin coat of resin (mixed properly), lay a square of the fabric, apply some more resin, roll it out to make it lay flat, lay another piece of fiberglass, more resin, roll it out, until you get about 3-4 layers of fiberglass. Let it cure, drill it, ride.

Easy.

does fiberglass bond to plastic well? I thought it didn't.

I have a plastic welder if you'd like to borrow it.

Interesting. I completely avoided fiberglassing to plastic because I was always told it didnt bond well unless you drilled and did both sides for bonding. But my only practice has been playing around making cowls and simple stuff.

They make a polyurethane type bondo, that's used for plastic bumpers and such.... you can buy it at your local automotive store, or Wal-Mart. The secret in any bonding surface is: Clean and dry surface, non-humid atmosphere, and proper curing time. Don't rush yourself, or you won't be happy with your work.

Also, kitty-kat bondo is great for quick fiber glass fixes.

The pics he showed was a fiberglass piece, not plastic

I agree, plastic welding is the only real fix for plastic. Glassing or epoxying plastic may work temporarily, but not for long.

Straight fiberglass cloth (material) not the kitty hair in a can with resin. Use the seperate resin with fiberglass cloth.
