How far is to Far?

Any question that maybe this administration is going too far?

A friend send me this article about UAV's (unmanned arial vehicles) being used in the US for surveillance, like they have been in Afghanistan and Iraq. They're planning on using them to watch ports and borders, but ...

"In a scene that could have been inspired by the movie "Minority Report," one North Carolina county is using a UAV equipped with low-light and infrared cameras to keep watch on its citizens. The aircraft has been dispatched to monitor gatherings of motorcycle riders at the Gaston County fairgrounds from just a few hundred feet in the air--close enough to identify faces--and many more uses, such as the aerial detection of marijuana fields, are planned."

would be freaky to see one and start having an aerial war like we used to do with our kites. we would put razor blades on the side sticks and send em on up and go at it, slice and dice in the air.

like everywhere now a days has a camera mounted up high and is watching, take notice of the freeways, everywhere is monitored, its only time before all the streets are watched in the same manner, thats good and bad also.

I don't see anything wrong with it... If they were in helicopters would you still be against it? Or a better question would be, if the article did not mention they were watching a motorcycle event, would you even care?

They are help preventing crime. Instead of using police ground units, they are doing it with advanced technology in the air .
