Efing Finally

Most you prob don't know me. I have been looking at this site for 3 or 4 months now. I dont post much. A little background on me: I am 17, YES I have take the MSF. This is my second bike, my first was a gz250. I rode that little thing for about 2 years. Just wanted to say that stuff before the gay people here yelled at me I live up in spring, but will drive all over town. I wont make it out to pp1 on wednesdays cause I got class wed night. (I am more of a night person) Ever since I sold my 250 I have been looking for a new bike. I was really low on cash, and now I am broke cause I finally bought my new bike. Its a 03 silver Sv650S with only 9358 miles on it. I picked it up for San Antonio yesterday and I got home around midnight. I will try and get to Motorcycles Unlimited today and pick up a new jacket cause I am just wearing a non-special leather jacket. Atleast its better than nothing. I tried to take some pictures before I came to work today, but will take some more later. I will just link the pics cause They might be a little big.

The good

I will be at work till 3, so that means I will be online till then If you have any advice for a newbie sport biker please put your 2cents in. Oh one more thing, my hand went numb after I ride, is that cause its a v-twin, or am I sitting on it kinda wrong?? Or am I just complaining too much and should just shut up and ride it??

Remember to brace the bike with your legs and not put all the weight on your wrist.

Im a big guy and my wrist were sore the first time i started riding. I was n00b and putting my weight on my wrist and they would hurt like after each ride. So i researched and saw all the cool dudes were using their legs and upper body to support themselves. After that and a couple weeks of riding i was good to go.

Plus one thing you have to take into consideration is, the SV might have a more agressive riding postion than your 250 did. You most likely lean more forward instead of sittin up on the 250.

Anyways just ride the and have loads of fun!!

Did you ride the bike back from San Antonio? Have you ever road that distance before? I lived up near Greenspoint and the first time I rode to Galveston and Back my wrists were sore..too much grip cause i was excited..bit got more relaxed and dont try to choke the grips anymore. That was my old ninja 600 . Now I got the 03 ZX9R and 1st time I road that it made my hands numb. but got used to it and now i warm up and stretch before i ride for any period of time. (yeah , old man):laughing6

I rode some of the way. But my mom is well... a mom and doesnt know that. She thinks My dad drove it home for me. I went about 30 minutes on the highway doing 65-70 and had to stop cause it was hurting. Noisey helmet, to big of a jacket (my dads XXL and I wear a M), hands sore and numb. But I loved it on the streets. Doing 30 to 60 is the best. I will prob keep it off the highway if I can.

cool . use the other good advice about using your legs to brace yourself and keep safe on the streets.
