Shouldn't have to weld anything! Most yosh pipes have rivets

Drill the rivets out of the end cap.
remove end cap
remove internal packing and guts
cut shell of exhaust to length wanted
cut internal baffle to same length
fit cap back on and mark and drill new holes for rivets
put internal baffle back into shell
re pack
put cap on and rivet into place

I was just giving him an idea of how to do it just in case he wanted to do it himself.

Make sure you/whoever uses a bandsaw so that the cuts are perfectly straight, otherwise you will have fitment issues, or leaks. Plus you cut the shell and baffle at the same time....
Oh yeah and spend the few bucks to order new bands for the rivets, the old ones can get bent outta shape....

Sounds like he wants the pipes shortened up like a GP style exhaust that sits low, like the stock 07-08 R6 or 06-07 GSXR600
