LoJack and Other Options

Folks,
After the incident with Pyro's bike at On the Rocks with it disappearing in such a brazen fashion and in a short period of time, I've decide to get a LoJack or similar product. What experiences have you guys had with LoJack, good and bad? What are the competitors products and what experiences have you had with them?

Also, my bike is used about 90% of the time on the track. I rarely put the OEM fairings on, so what impact might that have on both the product and the bike?

-Curt

Curt,

Glad to hear you are making the investment. I think everyone should or at the very least have full coverage. I believe it's just a matter of time before these individuals learn about Lojack and how to remove it. Kudos to you for taking the time to research and take action.

Curt,

You have more than enough invested in that bike to justify the cost. Low Jack guarantees their product to work within 24-48 hrs or they pay you. 98% recovery rate 2 boot.

*they only pay you the cost of the low jack* so basically if your bike gets stolen with lowjack and you dont get it back they say "well lowjack didnt work so here's the money you spent on it back.

They don't pay for your bike.

w/ purchase of the mrp5000 if your bike is not recevered within 30 days they give 5k towards the purchase of a new bike. Correction: they have a 99.8 % recovery within 48 hrs(all systems)

Sorry they don't pay for your bike...neither does a car alarm at least that I know of.

Hey Martin,
Any issues with LoJack in a track environment? Keep in mind I already smoked and replaced the full wiring harness. I'm wondering if it can handle the temperature and rigors of the track.

From what I understand it draws as much as the clock on your bike. I don't think you would have any issues. Patrick?

we have lojack on our cars, and it makes me feel secure.

I think that feeling of security is well worth it.

i have yet to get it on a bike, and I have yet to have one of our cars stolen.

No, He did not have Lojack.

There were several people that suggested that thieves lurk about on here and so they told him to write that he had Lojack in hopes of them dumping the bike somewhere..."curveball"....didn't work.

Lojack is a great product and we wished we had gotten it now.
