Lawyers and people that want something for free (payment) would muck it up. The USA is way too letigious of a society for that to work. As soon as a racer died (or seriuosly injured), the family here would sue the race organizers, the owner of the house they crashed into, etc. Over there motorcycles are such an part of the culture, that people see those accidents as what they are, sad tragedies that you acknowledge and then move on living your life.

In fact, at the end of the video that Grinchy posted, it sounds like the lady organizer is referencing a death the day before.

That looks like so much fun.... We could totally do that around my neighborhood! We have the perfect roads for that!

You would:

a) go to jail very quickly
b) get sued if someone broke a pinky
c) never get the neighbors to do anything that doesn't directly benefit them... so you would probably have to pay them

But man that would be fun! Those guys are catching some serious air on that one section of the track!
