Forest Gnome Ride 8.23.09

When: Sunday, the 23rd. Mandatory new rider meeting at 930am KSU 10pm

Where: PP69(shell/mcD's at 242/i45)

What: Ride through the backroads, up the National Forest and onward to Yankees via 3090

Gear Req': Helmet, Jacket, Gloves. Strongly recommend boots, knee guards and protective riding pants or more.

PreReq's: None. We have track riders to those w only a couple days of experience. The ride adjusts to the riders involved. Just be honest w your abilities and ride at a recommended 70% your ability or below. Come to the meet w a full tank, good tires and bike condition.

Da fk is a Forest Gnome Ride?: If you havent heard of our group crawl back into the hole you came out. LOL JK!

There are many roads up on the Northside that have been outridden but still offer a great opportunity for newer riders or those wishing to cruise to improve their skills. What we do is offer an MSF/Roadking designed ride w a dedicated Leader/Sweeper leading a manageable group through these roads.

We are one of the most organized, long lasting and dedicated ride groups consistantly concerned about the well being of our riders. There seem to always be mishaps or riders riding over their head, especially on 3090. We have mandatory meetings to warn riders and recommend riding in the Group C on your first ride through 3090 regardless of your skill level.

Above all, we never leave anyone behind and ask all the riders have the same respect for eachother on these rides.

The ride does officially end at Yankees, however I will be the last one leaving and will stay no matter how long necessary to make sure everyone has a way back. This way you and your friends can ride at your own pace on return or go back a variety of different ways.

If weather doesn't allow the ride, we can visit Dennys one block south of 242

(Forest Gnomes wishing to volunteer we're looking at our mains and 3 groups for 3090. We know who u are.)

1. Cali, your Forest Gnome Tour Guide. PM me if this is your first ride w us or have questions.

I have never been down 3090 so I am going to try to get out there this weekend to scout it casually. Maybe run it a few times before I go with a big group. I hate running roads for the first time with a big group. Much rather be somewhat familiar first.

Go SLOW. There is one 15 mph turn which you need to run at 15 mph. It is a tight turn. Really shouldn't go by yourself.

Don't worry. I will have someone with me and my first time scouting I will be driving like a grandma.

Group C doesnt go over the speed limit on 3090.

We are very controlled. If not, I've been known for getting off my bike and kicking people off or having a talk in the middle of a street/highway.

Intimidation is a bioch. JK
