I hate all of you that are going.

Planning on making a possible TD visit later this year. I need to scope out their schedule.

Well Day 1 went well. Did not get my 600 running we went by the book on the cam timing and tried turning the crank by hand and still have a valve hitting the head. Ill just send the bike to Steve U. when i get back. I did ride Freds ZX10 and got a crash course on a 1000 at Barber. First race i nuked the start and wheelied every where and was about 2 seconds behind the going into T1. Went into survival mode and tire conservation mode and just flopped around doing big circles. 2nd race went better but I was still getting used to the bike didnt finish last though. Last race of the day i felt better finally figured out how to get a 1000 off the line and ended up battling with someone all 6 laps for 4th place. So far I have gone 2 seconds faster than last year and am right on pace with all other humans who are not going dumd fast. The top 2 were doing 30 and 31 lap times and the rest of the field was doing 37's and I was right on the 37 mark. Tomorrow hopefully will be a better day and bring back some podiums. Oh and BTW riding barber on a 1000 is just crazy dumb and scary, also the track has this wierd ripple in it between 2 and 3 on the long right hander. I will give another update around Tuesday when I get back into town.

All in all it was a good weekend for my first time racing a 1000. Grids were light but I did good for it being my first time on that bike. I ended up with 1 3rd place for the weekend. They needed people for the ASRA pro series races so I got a free entry into my first "pro" race and boy that was an eye opener I got a good start for once and was running 7th for the first 2 laps then decided to pull off on the 3rd lap to save my tires for the rest of the races. Once again thanks to Fred and Joanne Alley with CMFR for making this weekend possible.
