it is slightly bigger than a Liter, but how about a bking, they are giving good deals right now, might even look at the newer KZ100

The buell motor is designed/built by rotax. The same company that designed/built the RSV motor for Aprilia. It should be a tank.

Ducati streetfighter motor is based on the 1098, and is MUCH less maintenance intensive than earlier ducati superbike motors.

Speed Triple. Well.....they're pretty reliable, but triumph is known for using crappy hardware. I.e. bolts that rust before their time. Not sure if this is still an issue.

Mva Brutale: pretty stout motor, but parts are nightmarishly expensive. Good luck finding a mechanic willing to work on one without charging you a firstborn too.

I looked VERY hard at a Speed Triple before buying my Street Triple. Couldn't find anything wrong with them after lots of research but didn't want that much of a bike as a first bike. Now that i've riden a Speed...I should have gotten it It's an AMAZING bike.

I'd rearrange this list:
1. KTM SuperDuke 990.
2. Triumph Speed Triple.
3. Ducati Streetfighter.
4. Buell 1125CR.
5. MVA Brutale.

to this list:
1. Speed Trip
2. KTM
3. Buell
4. Duc
5. MVA

Just get the trump, you won't regret it. That's not just because I own a triumph either, but when you break it down all the way across the board ts pretty darn obvious. Plus dude, it's a Triumph.

A Triumph Triple with exhaust (especially a Speed Triple) is one of the most bad- bikes to bless your ears.

Having ridden only 2 of these bikes, te s3 and the Brutale 910R i'd have to say they're both an absolute blast to ride.. but the dealer network and high repair costs of the MV would push me towards the triumph.

Maintenance: You have to replace the belts on the Ducati and it can be pricey.

Get the Streetfighter, maint isn't that bad but it handles better than any of the rest of them AND it looks better than anything else out there.

2nd choice for me would be to buy an R1 2004-up, and streetfighter it.

Triumph, but im a little biased. And as for the crappy hardware, no rust on my bike after almost 40k, no rust on the 98 we have here not sure on the milage, though.
