AZslide's hallett thanks

FINALLY a race weekend with no real problems! After running out of gas in my first race last time at hallett, breaking my shock in my second race and destroying a clutch in friday practice at cresson, it feels good to finish both my races again.

back to this weekend, i think this is by far the hardest track i've ever had to learn. going into the weekend i thought it might be a little easy since we raced it the other direction a few months ago, NEGATIVE. i think that hurt more than it helped. My first few laps i was all over the place and there was a few guys already at race pace,so i was pretty intimidated. after my first session i picked up a nail somewhere in the pits on a pretty new tire.
after my 3rd session i was feeling good about the track and was able to get into the 32's i said i wanted to do a 29 before the races.

race day. The 3 practice sessions in the morning were good i was able to do a few 29's and passed John Houk (i dont know how to spell his last name) who usually is way faster than me.

My first race of the day was lightweight twins. I got a good launch from 5th but caught a false neautral and saw almost the whole field pas me into turn one. I was able to out break half of them into turn 2 and was in 7th it took me a few turns to get around a few other riders then i caught Chris Magee on his ducati 1000 and outbraked him into turn one the for the next 4 laps he would out power me down the front straight and i'd pass him into turn one and lead the whole lap until we got to the front straight and he'd pass me again. On the last lap i knew i need a gap coming onto the staight away so i tried my hardest to get the best drive i could out of the last turn and i was at the line and thought i was gonna beat him then he motored past me. The split was like .134 seconds! So i ended up fifth in that race

My second race was superstock and i was gridded 3rd right next to that big ducati. This race wasn't as exciting as my first one but once we got into lapped traffic i made a few passes on the inside that were so close i thought i was gonna tuck the front and take a few people out haha. I think i ran a prov nov off the track sorry guy. At the finish i ended up 3rd doing consistant 28's and a 27.

After nothin but DNFs the past few weekends i am more than happy with my results. Big thanks to my dad none of this would be possible without him,
John at scrc for the sticky rubber, thanks to TonyTa for giving me something to chase all year, Derek and Jason helped me a little learning the track. Sunny thanks for getting my clutch the day before i left haha. And thanks to the CMRA and the rest of my sponsors
