The economy is why they went out of business, the CMRA thanks us at every event we show up at. Trackday and race events are dramatically under attended compared to even last year not to mention 06 and earlier. Do you have a copy of there business plan? If not how do you know they didnt have a proper one?

they came into a market that was already too saturated. Ride Smart, LSTD, and LMS already had the houston market on lock....

not too mention an over zealous schedule of 30+ trackdays....that's nuts.

and Scott, you knew you were doing it for free. You also knew it came with seat time...for FREE.

and up until their last event...I'll put money on the fact that they new people were CWing for them (in hopes of credits) which they'd never get the chance or opportunity to see.

True for races, not true for trackdays. Ridesmart has had about double the number of events (as compared to previous years) and we have been just as full at most events. More people have been to our events the last two years than anytime in the past. I was just doing some website/shopping cart maintenance on our site a few days ago and can tell you our customer base has more than doubled on the past 2 years. More people are hitting the track than ever, even w/ the poor economy.

Like Dbuck stated, they entered an already saturated market booking double the number of events of anyone. That's a poor business plan. No need to read all their paperwork to know that.

I think this thead has run it's course.
While I understand you guys frustrations, it's really not doing any good to keep bumping this thread.
Businesses go belly up everyday in this country and people get burned because of it. Take what you can from this experience and move on.
