I've been going to TWS (Texas World Speedway) for racing or track days since 1982 and I'm not hooked yet.

Do everything smoothly. Take 3 to 5 seconds to roll on the throttle after entering a turn. Brake earlier than you would need to so you don't have to brake at a maximum rate. It's hard to knock off a second by braking late. Don't use all the track coming out of a turn, leave 10 feet as a cushion. Decrease lap times by increasing corner speed as you get comfortable on the track. If your upper body is not relaxed (especially hands) then it is time to slow down or get off the track. If you find yourself going too fast entering a turn, look further down the track and you'll slow down instantly. Practice this "slow down" technique in your head so it will be nearly automatic when you start to panic. Have fun and don't get hooked.

Haven't been to a track day yet, but I've been racing autox for a few years. Watch how much alcohol you drink the day before!

Def bring the right attitude...i think all the already said advice is very important...have fun...but do not ride over your head or get intimidated or discouraged if (and when) you get passed. LISTEN to the instructors and PAY ATTENTION at the rider's meetings and classes...they are tools for improvement...not just to occupy paddock time
HYDRATE
Prepare your body days in advance and know that you may be sore (lifeless) for a couple days afterward
It's a blast...

TWS (Texas World Speedway) goes hot at 8am and runs until 5pm. If all goes well, medical doesn't roll excessively and all goes smoothly, (8) 20 minute sessions.

Doesn't sound like a lot???? Talk to me at 5pm.

wow i am so down to run eight runs lol. Do they sell gas there right? I would rather not worry about bringing some jugs if they supply it there. Thanks. Ill see some of yall out there. Also do they have high octane gas? I haven't used it before but i am willing to try it.

A lot cheaper to bring your own gas! Plus you don't need high octane fuel.
