A new Land Speed race venue in Florida...

http://milemarker-1.com/

Pretty sweet, another Standing Mile race coming.... October will be the first event. This land speed thing is really starting to catch on. We have the Texas Mile twice a year, Maxton Mile(North Carolina) twice a year, Loring Maine(only had one of these events so far) and of course the original Speedweek in Bonneville(which was this passed weekend).....

Only one I hit up is Texas but I might be down for a Florida trip if the event takes off....

Only downside to this is the October 11th race in FL is only 1 week before the Texas Mile so that "might" hurt participation here.....They need to start spreading these events out. Still glad to have em starting up though...good for the sport.

Im havin second thoughts on the mile this round. Too much money right now to ensure a 200mph pass.

Yeah the ain't cheap, thats for sure....I spent over $2k getting ready for my March 09 trip, only to melt the motor on sunday and spend another $1k to fix it... thats why I am spectating in October.

Its one of those usual things where one part leads to 1000$. The nitrous is 3-400. Then a bracket used for the mile is only good for there. That leads to a swing arm. SA leads to a chain and brake line. All of that is after a new tune. Its now in my new house budget. Nat is surprisingly cool with it though.

Yeah I wouldn't even think about spending the money on the spray....Once you bought the kit/tune you would have spent $500-600.... You could just set it up to run on motor, maybe run some MR9 fuel etc.... It may hit 200, it may not....no way to know without trying. Too many variables. The point is, the trip itself is gonna cost you $500 and that ain't cheap, nor is it including any bike prep expense.

Racing isn't cheap.... no doubt about that.... I can't afford it either anymore...

My sudden need for a 200k house is making me evaluate expenses more.
