There is a very simple self exam to determine if your rotator cuff is torn: Hold something in your arm (about one pound) straight in front of you at shoulder height. Slowly bring your arm around to your side without letting it fall. If it falls, there is a tear. This is per my dad (ER doc), and he's had his rotator cuff torn. And if it's torn, you have to have surgery to repair (at least that's what he says).

I'm glad you're feeling better. I heard about your accident right after it happened, but I don't have your number!

awesome!!!!!! i just did that and it didn't hurt! woo hoo! i just tried that little test with 2 diff objects and it was no prob. cuz dam i wasn't lookin forward to a sling and 6 months of not using my shouler. woo hoo!
