The reflash is a good idea....remove the 6th gear limiter and extend the rev limit about 500 rpms. I am not sure what the 08 stock limiters are. The gen 1s limit at 10,800 stock and are usually extended to 11,400. Some go as high as 12200. Whats good about extending the limiter is that is one less sprocket change you will have to make. You will be able to run a faster speed with lower gearing. You will like have to run 18/40 gearing with an extended limiter to get 200-206 mph. I recently ran 199mph(gps) at 10,800 with 18/42. You really won't know exactly what you need until you are there. The wind, your weight, the power of the bike etc will all dictate which gearing you use. Theoretically 18/40 and an 11,400 limiter would be good for 210-215mph or so....IF you have the power to pull it....(which you should) ...

Depends.....lots of variables..... The biggest is the weather/wind. Texas is NOTORIOUS for cross winds....A lot of people won't run it 100% into that cross wind....Then sometimes the wind itself slows them down. Just a lot of stuff. Its not easy to go 200 mph, it if was, everyone would be doing it. If you are wanting to try it because you think its easy, you may be suprised. Remember in March EVERYONE was flying due to the 10-15 mph TAIL wind....Won't ever see that again. Also a lot depends on the size/weight of the rider, the ability to tuck in well etc....Takes a lot of prep work. Josh worked on his bike for a month before he ran it in March. His 204mph run would likely be 199-202mph in "normal" cross wind conditions. When I ran the 1000 we had pretty bad cross wind. Sunday morning is usually the least windy....that first hour or two of racing Sunday am is the best of the weekend.

I love the sound of a turbo busa with NOS.
The Texas Mile is a blast to attend and I ran my 1997 Mustang one year and won my class. It's a fun 2 days for sure.............
Good luck to everyone this fall and congrats to Shane. That is quite an acomplishment!!!!!!!
