I wanna go.... I dont have but I'd do it if I had the moniez! I've been over 245 mph in a top fuel car so, 225+ on a bike would be a big thrill. No one would be able to wipe my cheezy grin off my face...lol

I dont see the point if I dont make 200. March was my best chance I think. Josh went 203 I think. We have comparable bikes I think.

What would be some inexpensive things I could put on the 600 to get it to go a bit faster? Sorta on a budget bc of school. I have a K&N and a Akra Slip-On. Any ideas?

For the mile you could drop a tooth or 2 on the rear. I think you have enough torque to still push it to the limiter. Its cheaper though to add to the front. With stock gearing you will run out of gear before the mile I think.

thanks for the ideas, i will surely look in to it. With a stock 600 what do yall think I could get in the mile? I have also heard that the speedometer is a little off to what is shown, like 160 is really 150?

Most are running Michelin Power Race or B-Stone 002/003s. I just run regular street Pilot Powers. Harder compound tends to not bead up and seperate/come apart as the full race compound tires.

Tires are a big concern for the 1.5 Mile race because its so long and there is so much heat build up. People were shredding tires after 1-2 passes.

If me and Alan fix my Busa and I get the NOS installed and tuned I will definitely be running out there..

Wheelbase, weight, suspension, expected tire/clutch slippage etc.... its crazy what all it takes to go fast after about 220mph...

For a quick car reference, to run 242mph in a standing mile, a full race Supra needs about 1600hp.....And ofcourse cars have better aeros then bikes believe it or not.
Yeah, it definitely takes a lot of HP to go that fast but to get from 260 to 262 might take another 50HP or more and some big money to get that HP, but it might also be possible with 50 cents of tape covering body work gaps or maybe a $50 speed hump on the suit. I'd be interested to know how much MPH the guys who have the extended front fender picked up from that mod alone. One guy in one of the pictures has a huge nitrous bottle mounted on the side of the bike and I wouldn't think that would help his top end aero very much. Maybe that far back it is not a big deal.

It is interesting that at those speeds the difference from 1 mile to 1.5 miles means you only add about another 7 seconds of run time. Of course with the heat being generated 7 seconds is a long time.

I have thought about going to the TX Mile to spectate, is it worth the trip as a spectator or is it only worthwhile if you are running?

yeah i heard from a friend there was some serious speed out there on sunday......hopefully they can get the organization side of it all figured out for next year (heard it was a mess because it was all just thrown together real quick). ill probably make the 3 hour drive next year to spectate...

granted you can only see like a 1/4 mile or so of the track before the bikes/cars are practically out of sight

Well, I informed the wife that Alan just may have me talked into the mile. I think she just wants ins. money. She didnt protest. She said "does this mean you need that spider nitrous kit you were talking about?" I laughed and said "As a matter of fact it does."

That is ZRXDEAN.....I have known that dude for YEARS through the boards. His previous best was 224mph in a standing mile, he F'n brought his A game for the 1.5 mile. 245mph is crazy enough, but on a liter bike is insane....that is probably the fastest liter bike in the world right now. Literally.

He also has a turbo charged ZRX that runs low 8s. He has set "Naked bike" records with that ZX10 also.... Dean is a great guy, very knowledgeable and builds/tunes/rides his own stuff...

Lorin70 The Texas Mile is a BLAST to go watch and walk through. In October, I will just be spectating myself. I love checking out all the cars, bikes, chicks and taking pics etc... its a fun weekend.

Bluewave, just make sure your life insurance is paid up so I don't have to worry about supporting your kids....

Nate Get your heap to my house so we can fix the tranny and get it set up for the Mile in October. I didn't know you had any interest in LSR. You need to put some dope on it and let Johnny tune it....
