+1

I am going in October just to spectate....I can't afford to participate this time around.

Also, just another couple special mentions of some other Houston racers that I am friends with that went to Loring, Maine to compete....

Karl Gunther on his home built ZX12 went 218mph all motor, the famed Doug Meyers of Team Kawasaki rode Karl's bike to a 222mph.

Gary Dow broke the 200mph barrier with a hurt motor in his 2000 turbo Hayabusa.

Bob Keller(I believe thats his last name) went an amazing 214mph in his STOCK MOTOR 08 hayabusa.

They all claimed the weather and track were absolutely perfect and they will make the 38hr straight through drive, 1900 miles 1 way, once again next year.

I'll be spectating in October as well. Look me up if y'all plan on riding down.

Glad all the years of hard work finally paid off for Karl.

You were close on Bob's last name (Sellers).

I like how the perspective on the first picture makes it look like the tires are melting into the pavement.

At those speeds you have to start looking less at hp and more at aero for speed improvements.

True on the aeros, no doubt about that....BUT that bike is putting down around 500hp to the wheel during those runs. Takes lots and lots of power to get significant speed. That exact bike has actually dynoed 636hp at 35lbs of boost....I believe they were running about 25lbs on these runs. There is a LOT of science to this LSR stuff. Wheelbase, weight, suspension, expected tire/clutch slippage etc.... its crazy what all it takes to go fast after about 220mph...

For a quick car reference, to run 242mph in a standing mile, a full race Supra needs about 1600hp.....And ofcourse cars have better aeros then bikes believe it or not.

You may want to add some gear. I am kicking the idea around myself.

Matt, you need to be runnin yo in October. Did you ever get the pipe on? Tuned? As light as you are, your bike would fly. October is normally the better month of the two as far as weather. You should break 200mph no problem.... Get in the club bro....get in the club.

Has Karl said anything about running Maxton in a few weeks? guess I need to call that ole ....
