I used to be real serious about recycling my used oil. Then Autozone made it a real PITA to do it, so last time I just put it in the garbage.

They do have real medicine for mange. Mange is a mite that lives in the hair folicle. Much better for your dog that covering it with used motor oil.

I just got b/c they would only let me dump 2 or 4 gallons, and they would not let me dump one of those b/c it had a lil water in it.

When I change oil, I do the jeep, the truck, the honda, and the MC. Sometimes I even include the lawnmower. Do that a few times and you have 10 gallons of used oil & oil/fluid mixture that may include break fluid, tranny oil.....then I go to Autozone and they let me dump 3 of the 10 gallons....uuurrrggg it, put it in the trash.

I tell all the enviromentalist types that I poor it in the storm sewer....sshhhhh our secret....

I usually take it to O'Reilly's or Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart does have a 5 gallon limit, though I have rarely seen them enforce it.

Seems no one mentioned any Quick Oil Change centers.
Mine goes to either Auto store or Kwick Lube center.

On occassion I have left a container (Milk Jug etc) at a quick oil change center front door if they were closed.

My preferred method is collect it in a 2.5 gallon gas can when its full I take it to my local O'rielys. and they record it and dump it in their tank.

Putting it in the trash or any non Oil Disposal system is simply wrong.
