more-so then if you kept it vertical. i was once warned by an LEO cuz my plate was like that, when i first bought the bike. now it's back to OE placement. IMO why tempt the law. gives him more reason to stop you. and even cite you. but your a big boy, just don't whine about it if you get stopped for it. you know it's not legal, deal w/ the consequences.

$200.00 fine for obstruction of your plate.
It's no longer a "fix it" ticket like if you have an expired registration or something.

As far as lights go. I've never been hassled about it, nor have a lot of my customers. However, if you're really concerned about, it you can mount a couple of LED's in the frame to light up the plate.

but the plate isnt obstructed from any thing.. the law states that the plate has to be veiwable from 15ft or somthing lke that and mounted to the rear of your vehicle. doesnt say it has to be mounted in a certain way or a certain place.

when you sitting on the bike, many times the plate gets covered up.

if you wanna skirt the law, thats cool, just don't whine when you get pulled over.......green LEDs might still get you pulled over.

I guess it's a matter of choice.
Drop the factory Shovel and take your chances with the LEO or play it by the book and keep the shovel in place.

I think Patrick had a good Idea. Just run Clear LED along the plate fram for lighting.

you dont need turnsignals. if you have them working, then yes they have to be legal.
