CF Accents on Exhaust

Less than 600 miles on her and I am already purdying her up. Just installed some carbon fiber accents on the exhaust. They replace the silver colored heat shields. The lower heat shield does not fit perfectly.

Can anyone tell me if the CF heat shield will get screwed up if it actually touches the exhaust?

...before this thread gets hijacked... I will say it now. I am a masochistic and I love the shape of the stock exhaust on the FZ1!
