Does this sound like a bad Idea?

I need a new tire and I don't have a front stand, would using a large tie down strap and hanging the front of the bike from a joist in my garage be a bad idea?

I would do it. Im glad I have exposed rafters in the garage. I hung a GXSR1k by ratchet straps to lower front and rear yesterday.

Cool, I thought it would work, but I didn't want to try it and drop my bike.
