Question on oil drip

I know jackshiz about dirt bikes/motards.

Have a 06 CRF450 tard. Last tiem i rode it, before i took it out, i topped off the oil, was a smidge low it appeared. Went ripping on it for awhile and eventually it acted a bit funny. Kinda felt it was loosing power, gaining power, loosing.......just strange. Took it back in and hopped off, and saw oil dripping from under the seat down onto the swingarm.

Took the seat off, took the filter out, seemed as if somehow the oil came up through the filter box and pukked out under the filter. WTF??? Im thinking oh , killed the top end or something.

Was miffed, so said **** it went to the house. Next day thought id fire it up for kicks, and see if it smoked out the exhaust or anything like it was burning oil...................nope, fired up, warmed up, rode down the street and back not a puff of smoke and seemed fine.

Havnt touched it since and have been wondering wtf was that all about. Maye i overfilled it a touch with oil, is that what it would do if so?? Any other thoughts on what it usually means when they puke out some oil like that??

Hmmmmm. I did dump it twice in one day on a mini-track, but it rode/did ok the rest of that day. Then it sat 1 week, topped off the oil, put down 2 sessions on the bike (seemed fine) session 3, is when it weirded out.

Brian,
Sounds like you got a bunch of oil in the airbox and it got sucked into the engine.
Pull your air filter and check it out as it may be soaked in engine oil.
Also recheck the oil level.
Give me a call if you need any further help.
