thoughts on the war in iraq

i served in the army for 3 years....not long but long enough to due a 0ne-year tour in iraq. i saw for my own eyes how the people lived over there. i saw what they had to do to survive. i was and am very happy that i was able to do my part to help that country get back on its feet. the news only shows you the bad of whats going on over there. they dont report that we gave medical attn. to those who needed it or about the schools and playgrounds that we built, why would they, who wants to watch that?. i know id rather see being blown up. thats what sells.

i just want to know everybodys stand on the war and why you think its right or wrong.

should be interesting

i watch Off to War when I get a chance and I think that's abou the closest thing i've seen to the reality of Iraq, not that I can really say what it's like, but they basically follow the troops around in Iraq video taping them. It's a pretty good show, comes on Discovery Times. Anyways, most of the troops seemed pretty bitter about being there, but I guess you're different.

I think we helped them out and gave them hope, even though there is a small handful causing problems, we helped out the majority

why are we over there? there are poor people over here that need medical attn and poor neighborhoods that could use playgrounds. from what I see, they dont even want our help or want us over there. maybe I'm just missing the point of us being over there and having our own soldiers dieing on a daily basis.

I actually served in Iraq for 6 months, I was one of the lucky ones. From what I saw there is really no reason for us to be there but then again I feel it is going to be a situation like Korea and we will have troops there forever.

That is a really nice base. That is where I went to Basic Training. Hot as in the summer though. And that means your going infantry. GL lol

I was in the Marines and did two tours in Iraq 6 and 12 months with 5 month brake in between, wether we like it or not we as servicemen had to do our job out there nobody forced us to join.. so nobody should complain about it.. and as far as the people bak in the states you don't have to support the war but please support our troops...

Yes, I don't like the US being in Iraq, but my utmost respect for the troops. One of my best friend just came back after two years.

And i hope everyone supports me too. That's right, I'm one of America's Unsung heroes. Every day I breathe in toxic chemicals and walk over chunks of asbestos falling from scorching hot pipes to bring you such treats as propolyene oxide and benzene. jk...sorry......tired....delerious
