Insurance companies after an accident/wreck do not want to release liability w the potential for a cracked frame etc to injure the rider down the road. So they are totalled w little actual damage.

oh snap. read into it a bit more and it says. your not guranteed this bike if you win the auction on their website. you have to bid high enough so that they can bid high enough to actually win that bike. they dont own them yet

basically the use their dealer license to bid on these bikes and make a profit off you...

you bid $3000 on a bike, they will bid up to $2500 (I dont know the actual numbers)... so basically if they win it for $2500, they keep the other $500.
