At first I was leaning more to the Fab pulled a toal BS move, but the more I watched it and think about it, the biggest BS part of it was just that he did it 3 or 4 laps in. There was plenty of time to set something up later on. He just got over zealous and tried to make something stick that wasn't there. He lowsided because he was trying to pull it back (too late). If he would have given it another lap or 2, he would have realized Ben was taking way different lines than the other riders/manufacturers. They talked about it several times that on this track Ben was having better luck w/ later turn-in so he could get the power down sooner (ie better traction w/ t he big-bang motor). Fab probably thought ben ran it too hot/wide so he continued to make it stick. But, as we all saw, too much front brake and blammo. Just my $.02.

I think you got it right the first time- he knew what he was doing and made a huge mistake. Spies line was not that far off the others in that corner, just a bit wider was all, but nothing dramatic that would make someone think he overshot IMHO.

I think at his level, he's well aware of what his entry speed needs to be and he took a gamble, I can't see any other reason for his move other than what happened. He wanted to take the lead because he's competition in points was right in front of him. Take the lead and try to stretch it out...

The thing I thought right after I cooled down a bit was, "Man, this is how Spies gets rewarded for being a patient racer in WSBK. He knew there were 20 some laps to go in the race and had to make his tires last, not to mention he knew he has the speed to get the job done and he was patient. Congratulations "

I guess my point was more that it wasn't like Turdorsa torpedoeing Hayden in 06. Been summed it up when he got off the bike pointing to his head. Just a simple "use your head." (you effing moron)

happens......even to the best.

Gap is only 7 points.......the season is far from over.

To Fabrizio's defense, it was a move he could have made, if Spies didn't square off his entry......however......that's not a move you pull when there are 16 laps left in the race. Then agian....you're not paid to sit back and let someone like Spies have a cushion, either.

I enjoyed race 2. Spies was straight business. He could have left them, but knew pushing the whole race wasn't the smarter move. Glad to see he has some control over his emotions.....unlike many riders.

Spies had quite a few moments with rear traction in race 2. I bet they had to replace them foam on his seat and he probably needs new leathers

Smart move not to rock it the entire race. Text book win....

Corser definitley has solved their launch issues. Holeshots in race 1 and 2. (and Ben got a GREAT launch in race 2 and Corser still got the holeshot).

I don't think Speed transmits them, at least not at the same time as the other races.

Again, sadly, I have not. If anyone knows when Speed is airing them, please for 's sake let me know.

Yup! Too bad he starts falling back almost immediately afterwards. Also nice to see the aprilia on the box.
