Repack D&D on f2

Thinkin of ordering the repacking kit from d&d for my 94 cbr. Anyone know of any alternative materials that work well? I kinda wanted to get it done this weekend, but just like anything else, it can wait if need be.

Thanks

Well, I read through that thread last night. Being it's the first time I've repacked a muffler, I went ahead and ordered the packing kit from d&d.

Should be here tomorrow. Want to make sure I do it right the first time.

Hmm, pretty sure. They gave me two options to go with when I ordered. Loud and silent packing. Of course I went with loud. Curious what the difference is between that and what I have now.

For the loud they may just send you an empty box. LOL

We shorten a Yoshi on a 04 gsxr6 and took out some packing and it just got deeper, not necessarily louder....

Let us know what it turns out like...

Didn't take pics. Took forever to unpack the muffler, had the factory packing. Inside is all welded together. Isn't as loud as it was, but sounds like an f2 again instead of that high pitch whatever. Package came with about 2' x 6' or so of packing, rivets and instructions

Sorry for mispells. On phone

Hmm, probably 3 hours.

Next time will go faster, it just took forever to get my d&d separated. Was all gunked up. Got it apart, sanded everything down and sprayed some lube. Went back together much easier.

Gonna go by lowe's soon and see what alternatives they may have now that I know more of what I'm looking for.
