Storing tires

I plan to buy another set of street tires now while they are cheap for the previous model but, is there a proper or improper way to keep them stored until they are used? Under wraps, covered, uncovered, etc etc. What's the best way to keep them stored and fresh?

Keep them out of sunlight.
Best way is to wrap them in a black trash bag and store them in a reasonably cool dry place.
