Price? If you have to ask, you can't afford them. Both of the above tickly me fancy a bit, I'd own one of them if I could afford it

Otherwise I dig the Honda 919.

Ducati's because of the looks and performance, the Honda because it's built well and is durable.

I have a friend who has a Tuono R Factory and I rode it for 6 days in Cali and it is purdy sick, not much wind protection at very high speeds only complaint, One of the dealers in Cali has the regular Tuono for like 8500 I think, of a price

you should look into the Brutale 1078R, it's an Italian naked bike--the duc streetfighter in my opinion was derived from it--but unlike the streetfighter the brutale is an inline-four.

Speed triple. Close thread.

Not any more expensive to work on than a bike, sounds wicked cool with a 1050cc inline triple. Just as reliable. Another note is that you may never actually have to replace the front tire

Second choice would be the monster. But then you get to talk about expensive aftermarket parts and whatnot. Great bike though

Aprilia Tuono would top my list if reliability was a prime concern. The Rotex-designed V is pretty much bulletproof provided you don't try to run the starter with a weak battery.

The new ducati streetfighter is another badass choice: the new 1098-based motors are MUCH less maintenance prone than earlier ducatis.

Of interest would also be the aprilia dorsoduro and the triumph street triple.
