When I got my original license it was from Charles Brothers at OHR. I went through his "class" on Saturday and raced on Sunday... my trips to OHR were the only thing I thought existed unless you took a trip to Cali to ride with Code's school or something.

Pridmore? At TWS (Texas World Speedway)? Or Code at TWS (Texas World Speedway)?

Texas Sport Bike School/ MSR Cresson 2000-2001

Jeff Nash and Jay Bernard.

They closed shop in 2001 after Jeff won the Pro Thunder race at Daytona.
The red flag came out right after Jeff crashed and he was allowed to remount with a re-start and he won the race. One thing Jeff did not know at the time, his team mate Dirk Pez caused the red flag in the bus stop chicane and subsequently died on the way to the hospital. Just like Michael Waltrip winning Daytona while his team owner D.E. had just taken the wall and died.

As far as this thread goes even if you separate the forums into two sections the same will keep happening. If you don't like something ignore it.
There is some great advice offered from both track day riders and experienced racers. I TOTALY AGREE with what Keith said " some riders go fast and can't really explain how or why". Most experienced track day riders can help any new rider become comfortable at their first time track event. Teaching them proper habits, lines, body position, trail braking, apex's, exits, throttle control, passing, and other important aspects???
I hear alot of self promotion on this board and some really bad advice. Tom mentioned that we, ie LSTD pays to promote our organization on this BBS.
I have tried to maintain a low profile on this board and also asked my "crew" to try to as well. Bottom line, ride, listen, try a few schools and LEARN.
There is no substitue for seat time and racing vs. track days is like tennis vs. ping pong.

Ah, I remember hearing about it, but I was out of the track scene by then and never went to one.

Good info, I didn't know about Jeff Nash and Dirk Pez's relationship.

Have either of those guys EVER run their schools in TX? If so, why don't they anymore?

They both have, Pridmore was just at Angleton at the Mercedes Benz track.

Personally I wouldn't go to another Code school, not my cup of tea any more, but if he does come back I wouldn't tell someone not to go. It's just a bit different...
