Alright, no more posts by non racers in the racers lounge. You must show your racing license at the door!

I truthfully appreciate dedicated trackday riders!! Most of us racers are cheap bastards by nature and trade cornerworking for track time thus not generating cash flow for track day organizations. Track day riders help fill that void and help keep them in business. Otherwise, we would be stuck with two practice sessions on sprint weekends! Besides the forum is good entertainment!

Missed it completely unfortunately

Unless you have an unlimited amount of funds and even if you do ... you have to practice somewhere and I don't see the fun / point of renting a track / ambulance / instructors / etc etc to improve my riding ability by myself! I would rather tear it up with guys much faster than me that I can learn from and have some room to improve.....

so to break this down for you (and don't get all pissy this is just a joke)

track + trackWhore + instructors = trackday

racer = (trackday - trackWhore) * gainedAbility

racersLounge = (trackWhore + racer)* idoitsThatDontHaveAClue

I would wonder if he's really not posting referencing all the Trackday Org posts that show up in here. Its like their commercials selling one org or the other based on some noobies post for first trackday info that conveniently gets mis-posted in this section. Recently that has slowed, and posts like that have been moved (appreciated by this user) but for a while it was total saturation in here, drama, sales, and shameless finger pointing...IMHO

Come on man, whats your point,,do tell?

Too bad they rarely get it.

I know when I post a question in the Racers Forum, I am looking for solid answers.

You guys pretty much got my point dead on.

Someone posts a question about riding techniques, or setups, or what lines to take in a certain turn, and it turns into people who have done a handful of trackdays giving what they think the best answer is, or it turns into an infomercial for a trackday organization. I also have some select feelings about organizations who's instructors haven't ever gridded up for a real race, but that's another story.

And to everyone who came in postwhoring and 'rm-rf'ing and whatnot, that kinda goes along with what I was trying to get at, too. Too much BS in here.

But, of course, I guess I shouldn't have expected anything more. Oh well.

i disagree for the sake of arguement....i don't think you have to race to know what you are doing. you gotta remember, most trackdays are to teach you how to safely and properly RIDE on the track, not necessarily RACE on the track. if you catch my drift.

there are many fast racers out there that make HORRIBLE teachers/instructors....those that know what they are doing and can put it in perspective with words and demonstration to help others understand are the ONLY requirements an instructor/teacher should have. if these trackdays were teaching RACING, then yes....bein gridded up for a few years would definately be a requirement.

i believe that's what they have the ty howard school with ridesmart, larry myers school with texas trackdays, and LSTD has their advanced riding school with their championship endurance riders and sprinters.

Well, what did you expect when you posted this thread? Being someone who has been around MH for a while, you had to know those responses were coming, didn't you?

forbid that the titles to the areas of the forums hold true.

I guess that every sub-division of this forum should be renamed 'off-topic'.

Right?

If it weren't for trackday people this forum would be empty at best. There's.....what? 10-15 total members who race on anything approaching a consistant basis? Check out the frequency of posts in the cruiser section if you want to see what 10-15 posters who "belong" in a forum look like.

Trackday...race weekend...doesn't matter to me, I just want to ride!!! What happened to the whole common interest? Like Tony stated, just because you don't race doesn't mean you can't offer sound advice...just saying.

True, but much of the advice is and wholly different from "sound advice". And much of what isn't eventually gets whored up by those who don't race and seldom do track days.

I post PURE in the Off-Topic area; I stay the outta the stunt areas. Maybe it's asking too much, but I'd kind of expect those without at least some knowledge of the track and genuine experience to stay the outta the race forum.
