ill tell you right now there is no need to run a full synthetic in a street bike.. You rpms arent getting high enough to matter and your not running through the gears like on the track.. I run a semi-syn in my r1.. I believe yamalube and it cost about 8 bucks a quart.. they were running a special by my house and I put there full synthetic in my track bike for 9 a quart.. Search a little bit Patrick explained to me the need for a synthetic and there is no need on the street.. call Motorcycles Unlimited tomorrow and they will give you the specifics..

I never run synthetic on bikes with a slipper clutch. Both of my 06 ZX6R racebikes I used regular 4 stroke non-synthetic...20W50...because they were endurance bikes. Oil changed after every race.

For the street non-synthetic 10W40 would be fine. Castrol has a nice synthetic based oil that is called Actevo. Give it a look.

semi-synthetic is a scam. technically, they can mix in 99 percent regular dino oil and 1 percent synthetic oil and call the bottle semi-synthetic with a premium price. if you're going to spend 8 bucks a quart for yamalube, you might as well spend 1.50 more for full synthetic mobil mx4t.

I'd suggest something thick (like 20-50) for idling in traffic in this stupid hot heat...
