As you can see, the power wire to the coils is shared; so your problem has to be somewhere within the wire off the splice or the controlled ground.

If you have a DVOM, unplug at the coil/switch or coil/ecu and check continuity to make sure the wires are ok. Also check to ground. If the power wire was to ground obviously the fuse would be blown since it would have been preload.

k.

easiest checks would be power at the coil(key on would be fine, without running)

That verifies the power side of the wiring circuit is good. After that, either your coil(which you said was already replaced) or the control wiring side/ecu.

Im asking just to make sure...

The back cylinder is running? and you do not have spark in the front?

Asking because it narrows down alot of the system if that is correct.

hey, if it is chopped up, and you have power at the coil, run a wire and splice it into the wire at the plug of the ecm. (basically cut out the wire and run your own control wire.

That's what I would do if you didn't have a good DVOM to check the duty cycle control from the ecu control.

The cap on the 1st gen sv has a small hole in it to let condensation out. Problem is when it rains water gets through it. Take a paper towel and dry it out. Then spray same wd40 in there to get rid of th remaining condensation. Put the cap back on and seal it with some silicone.

But it does crank, correct?

Fuel, spark and compression is all you need. Can you hear the cylinders combusting? Whether timing was on or off you should be able to hear something.

This sounds like quite a project. Can you give us some background? Was the engine apart or was it on the frame; harness was off the bike?
