positive people in the CMRA...who has your vote?

just anybody you notice in the CMRA paddocks that stands out....maybe it's something they've done for you, or for one of your buddies....maybe it's just their friendly face that takes your vote....let's hear it!

i'm gonna have to say Linz and Gabe are on the top of my list.

Linz Leard because he's extremely knowledgeable about rules and regulations among many other things, and always ready to share his knowledge. The guy helps out with tech, grid positions, helping other racers, and does some racing himself....that's a whole lotta responsibility in one day. you have earned my full respect sir!

Gabe McClendon because if you've never met him before, he has the most positive attitude everytime you see him. always offering to help or just being the friendly face you need to see to get the morning started. your upbeat attitude about endurance got me and my team mates to join. i'm glad you invited us to the party....it's been fun so far. you also have earned my full respect!

You two are at the top of my list, just wanted to say it hasn't gone unnoticed.

agreed!!! It seems I always find myself looking for those two when we get to the track. Gabe is always willing to lend a hand or offer helpful advice, and so is Linz...good people I say!!!

Yes, Linz and Gabe are two great guys... no matter where they are or what they are doing. Hats off to them both.

Is this a Linz and Gabe thread? LOL Have to say those guys are awesome. Gabe needs to slow down so I can follow him more. Linz just needs to attend all my trackdays so I can bombard him with questions.

Those guys are great, but to tell you the truth.....Most of the members are really great people. There a few that are polarizing and a few that are admitedly weird, but overall the CMRA is a great bunch of people.

Thanks guys but Im just another racer at the track. Most of us are glad to be there and happy to help others. We need our family to grow so we have more friends to race with and against.

I concur with John and others that there's a lot of good and helpful guys in the club. It's nice to lumped in with them, though.

Steve. He's just a good guy, isn't he? He's made my job a ton easier.

Well, Level 5 mentioned this the other day, too. I've had the pleasure of serving on the BoD in the past for two consecutive terms, four years, from 2003-2007. I made a lot of friends in that time. (I made a few enemies in that time, too, but that's politics.) I endeavored to to do the right thing always during my tenure. Serving on the BoD is a bit of work at times and can be a headache once in a while, too, but it was, for me, a very positive, very rewarding thing and I had a ton of fun doing it. I'm not 100% sure I'd accept a nomination to run for a seat again at this time due to other commitments, but, well, you never know.

From this discussion I strongly encourage all CMRA members to vote in this election since it is part and parcel to the future of the club. Get to know the candidates (future newsletters will profile them) when they've been selected and vote accordingly.

(Hey, Gabe: "I declined VP!" )
