Dean Laden CMRA Thanks of behalf of Young Gunz

I want to thank CMRA for another outstanding event. I was only able to make it for Saturday's endurance round. The day brought uncertainty. With two of my teamates unable to make it due to illness and Moe, well Moe is Moe (you my dog Moe) With less than 24 hours to go we were able to find one rider who would accept our invitation to ride and pay his way.

Thanks to John at SCRC for the sticky Bstones that held up and Vesrah RJL's that kept it on two wheels in the fast lane. Thanks to our friends and families for their support. Thanks to the haterz you inspire me! Thanks to Linz for the awesome advice. Thanks to Ty Howard, Joe P. and Ridesmart for helping me learn some lines.

Damon Harvey had not been on a big bike is many moons. Damon a special thanks! It is always a blast to hang around you. If you do no know this guy, he is like a big kid. I remember after his first stint him telling me man I am having so much fun. You seen me wheelie-ing over that hill over there. I waslike yes Damon. Damon is a very smooth rider and after talking to Alan and Barry Nichols vouching for him, they gave him a Novice License.

Thanks to Ron Harris, who came up the night before, got tires situated, brake pads changed, and was the best crew chief we could have. And his bright shirt definately helped spot our pit!

Damon was not quite accustomed to the bike and I got the start. The fifth row was where they made me grid up. I was able to hold position and the end of my stint, in which I began cramping. (Not good news for the home team)I did not have a big lead so our pit stop put us back a couple of teams. Damon began to put down some decent times and a 1 hour stint. Way to go Damon! This guy is a beast on the bike. Very smooth and can ride forever. We were fighting for 3-5th place is SuperStock C. The first red flag gave us a chance to move up and possibly podium. One lap and a 6th best start for Damon later, we were rede flagging it again. That really hurt us because the team that we were hoping to put some laps on was able to get everything together. I do not know the rules but I thought they had to wait in the pits for the same amount of time they stopped the race for. Does this run during a second red flag? Any way, I could not put down any decent lap times because I was cramping in my legs and it hurt like . I am still sore today from the cramps. I learnede my lesson and will not under-estimate the sweltering heat of texas ever again.

At the end of the day, 3 novices was able to gather an 11th place overall finish and 5th in class, while racing with the big boi's.Not satisfying, but quietly letting me know things are starting to pay off. If, only if I was able to put together two more consistent and decent stints we would have had 3rd, and possibly been in contention for a podium. Well, back to the drawing boards. If anyone knows this guy, tell him nice riding and I will see him soon. (his team beat me by 1 lap)

You guys put in a very solid effort under some very difficult conditions. Podium before the season's end? I think so.

I only have two thumbs to give, but you folks get my highest rating: three thumbs up!

Well, we have our work cut out for us. The teams locked in first second and third, have top notch riders. It will take great riding by us, and a little bit of help from the Race Gods. But thanks for your kind words.

Thanks for all the props guys - its a first year/run the whole season mentality we're going with.

Our goal is to "show up" to every race and "complete it". Lets see where we stand at the end of the season.

John - the stones held up great for the heat . It lasted us the 6 hours...
