my first race weekend v.mekrew

if i could sum it up in 1 word:
fuck !

fuck it was awesome
fuck i suck and need to ride a lot more
fuck it was hot as
did i mention it was awesome and it was hot as

here is a quick recap of how it went for me forgive the runons, spelling, etc etc that drive home killed me and im ready to lay on my floor and pass out

thur night:
started it off with that LOOOOOOOOONG drive to cresson, had a little pause in my trip thanks to benbrook pd for the speeding ticket (54 in 40), it was night i didnt see any signs. Im glad that new cresson inn across the street from the track is open because that made the weekend easy to manage and i could sleep in later.

fri:
are u sure we dont live in africa cause it was HOT! the trackday went smooth and i had a good time. saw some old faces and some new ones, even if i didnt say hi cause im a my bad (civicious, gabe probably a few others). left the track friday with the mindset, "man sunday is going to be "

sat:
i learned on sat that not all motorcycle shops are douche bags. One of my pinch bolts went a stray before i finished safety wiring my bike so i ran over to the honda kawasaki west to see if they had a replacement. not only did they just give me a bolt but they drilled it for safety wire . I showed up around 3 to do my paperwork and tech, and then decided im here might as well do a few practice sessions to try a few new lines and see if my front end chatter would go away, which it didnt all weekend

sun:
race day! started it off by added a nice burn mark on my forehead when i was putting my belly pan on ... don't ask ...

in practice i still was working on trying to get faster in a few places so i wouldst be on my 3rd lap by the time the race was over , but being it was my first race the nerves really didnt hit me until the hot lap,

once i was gridded up thats when it hit me ........ "im about to race my first race ... awww " ... the first race for me went somewhat how i figured it would, but a little worst cause like people told me, your trackday pace and race day are different and the chatter was worst and just got in my head ..... by the end of race one i was i had fun but was a little discouraged. I guess it didnt help that the motard class is full of experts and im far from it, so they were as fast as i thought

by the time my 2nd and final race came up, i just said im going to have some fun and ride ... gotta get that seat time right . and i did just that had a BLAST.

all in all i had a blast this weekend. at the races there are so many people that are willing to offer advice or help and i thought that was awesome. most people out there just love talking to other bikers, so be it a dumb question or talking about random everyone is pretty laid back. after its all said and done i think im going to take a step to the side and try and go back to trying to learn some of the basics since i just jumped into trackdays headfirst w/o any instruction or direction. i think after that i might feel a bit more confident and maybe even a bit faster. but being at the races and losing my race virginity was awesome ... i felt like a girl losing her virginity and knew it was going to hurt but then turned into a after the first time .... oh it hurt alright ,except hopefully ill turn into a race unless it keeps hurting

my thanks:
thanks fedex kinkos for the badass custom number plates
thanks lstd for the awesome td fri
thanks steve for coming out there and dragging me around on the tard and giving me pointers
thanks brant and jimmy for the pit help and good times. good riding out there both of u
thanks allan w/ cmra for explaining everything to get going
thanks linz for just giving that linz advice
thanks all you fast fckers for making me want to go faster now
and whoever else did something awesome thanks

sleepy time
