06 GSX-R 1000 starts and dies

Friend of mine has a 06 GSX-R 1000 that will start fine and run for 3-5 seconds. After that, it just dies. It will fire right back up but the same thing. Already changed the fuel pump. Still the same thing. Any ideas?

Off the top of my head strictly, unmetered air leak(see post above), idle too low or tps/other electrical problem.

U have spark/compression/fuel if it idles for a short bit.

And Patrick is the man

Did you ever figure this out? Please, let us all know what it was. I was guessing it was that the idle adjustment hose was missing, had a hole in it, or not secured properly.
