you guys dont realize that we arent proposing that the 250/500 be the only bike you own,....just your first one.

whats so hard about selling it for pretty much what you paid in a few months to a year and getting something else?

an r6 is outta of the question
I agreee, I dont like the look of them either, but that doesnt make them a good/bad choice for a newbie.

sv- I think its a good bike too, however a new rider doesnt really need alot of power.

Id think the 250/500 is like an old chevy, its virtually the same bike/engine from the 80's. Easy to work on, and parts are SUPER cheap.

this is the most retarded argument and it keeps getting brought up

get the bike you want, if ur an idiot and dont respect it, ur gonna crash sooner than later...if u take ur time and dont push urself, u will be fine.

i bought a brand new r6 outta the gate, first bike, never even sat on anything smaller...bc its what i wanted. Did I wreck? yah, on the track, after 2 and a half uneventful years.

you could buy a 250 and kill urself as easy as you would on a busa...its all about responsibility

Take the class, ask your instructor the same questions you're asking here, then get proper gear (helmet, jacket, gloves at a minimum). With what's left get a bike.... if there isn't enough left ... wait and save up more.

I only suggested the Magna since that's what I started riding again on after about 8 years or so.

There was a huge difference in power between my 95 Magna 750 and my 94 cbr 600. That Magna felt like a tank compared to the little 600.

It's your first bike... not your last...

BUY ALL YOUR FREAKING GEAR FIRST!!!!

Buy a bike with what you have left over.
